Integration with Verifone MX915

We are looking to write firmware for the VeriFone MX915 that integrates with First Data, is it possible to use the Payeezy API to complete this integration? We see that it specifies uses for ecommerce solutions but if the MX915 is going to be used at a Point of Sale station is that still a valid use and integration?

thank you,
Rich

Richard - Payeezy API is for eCommerce transactions and will not work for your use case which is point of sale.

But is it specifically restricted by the terms of use of the Payeezy API or some other documentation that you can point me to?

Calling a publically available API from a device is technically possible as we have done this before and passing it parameters to complete a sale is nothing more that capturing values and passing them along to the API and processing the return values.

Re: Integration with Verifone MX915

While there is nothing in Payeezy’s Terms of Service that would restricts it, here is something that we saw in VeriFone Standard Terms and Conditions:

“3.3 Further Restrictions. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, translate, copy, modify, alter or otherwise change any Product, or part, or otherwise obtain the source code for any software provided by VeriFone by any means, without the prior express written consent of VeriFone”

Additionally, the Payeezy APIs don’t support Card Present transactions, so using Payeezy would result in interchange downgrades for any merchant who would choose to use this firmware.
