First Data remains vigilant in protecting data and ensuring that our products and services are compliant with industry standards and PCI requirements. In order to further improve the protection of sensitive cardholder data, the GET request method for the Tokenization Credit Card API will be replaced with a Tokenization Credit Card API call that uses the POST request method. The new call has been published in the Payeezy Developer Portal (developer.payeezy.com).

The former GET request method Tokenization Credit Card API call will be supported until 03/31/2018. After 03/31/2018 support for the GET request method Tokenization Credit Card API call will be removed. Clients therefore need to update their application code to use the POST request method Tokenization Credit Card API call before 03/31/2018.

All new clients see the POST request method Tokenization Credit Card API call in the Developer Portal as the only option.

Clients that have not upgraded to use the POST request method Tokenization Credit Card API call by 03/31/2018 will be unable to use the First API’s tokenization call.

All staging (customer test) environments have been updated to support only the POST request method Tokenization Credit Card API call. First Data strongly recommends clients begin migration efforts immediately.
