Unique Approval#

Hi,

We started using the First Data API a couple of months ago. When using our previous API, we were sent back a unique approval/authorization number that we present to our customers and store on our end. Really just a unique reference#. When we switched to First Data, I was using the Authorization_Num for this, but have just realized this is not a unique value. Is there a unique reference# being sent back for approvals that I can use? I see the "Transaction Reference" number on the transaction page of the payeezy site, but did not see that value being returned in the approval response.

You can capture the transaction tag as that will be unique and won't be reused. Authorization numbers are generated by the card issuing bank and are not always unique.
